In this episode I’m excited to present to you the first part of my interview with the wonderfully talented Scott Menville.

Scott is probably best known for his portrayal of Robin in the animated series Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, but Scott has been working both as a voice actor and an on-camera actor since he was 11 years old! Scott has performed in such high profile shows as Ben 10, The Avengers, Scooby Doo, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Avatar the Last Airbender, the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and many more!

Scott brings a wealth of experience to our discussion as well as an amazingly positive mindset, and I’m thrilled to have him on the podcast. What makes things even better is that Scott is actually an avid listener of the Voice Acting Mastery podcast, and I was honored when he approached me one day to thank me for making it. That great interaction was part of what inspired this interview, and we spend some time recounting it for you in this segment. Chatting with Scott was a great pleasure, and I’m excited to share his insights and experience with all my listeners.

  1. Eric Rivera says:

Fantastic. I love Scott Menville’s Robin. Super cool.

I just graduated from college with my BA in Theater, so that’s good. I’ve heard a lot of stories and I know I can’t be one of those people who, “moved to LA with nothing but a car and dreams about making it big.” If I tried that, I’d die. Right now, I’m focused on preparing myself.

Thank you and Scott for your time and wisdom.

  2. Mike V. says:

I can’t describe how excited I was to see that Scott Menville was on the podcast this week. Growing up, Teen Titans was one of my favorite shows to watch, and I’m impressed with how incredible he and the rest cast still sound years after on Teen Titans Go. Thank you both and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the interview.

  3. Andrew says:

I want to thank Scott for coming on to the podcast, his conscious decision about college greatly resonates with the same choice i made when I graduated high school, and how I’ve decided to study off the beaten path.
This was very, very wonderful to hear and further bolsters my confidence in the decision I made and to stick to my guns!
Thank you for this episode Crispin!

    • Crispin Freeman says:

You’re very welcome Andrew! It’s always nice to hear the journey of those who have gone before us.

  4. Jerry Smith says:

I’ve actually been a bit curious of the mental shift Mr. Melville had to make from the determined somewhat brooding leader Robin from the original teen titans to the goofy almost bullying occasional punching bag Robin from teen titans Go.

    • Crispin Freeman says:

It happens sometimes. Whenever we have to revisit a character, sometimes the plot has changed which invariably ends up changing the style of the character.

  5. Kalyn McCabe says:

Oh, Scott Menville. I listened to him in my teenaged years. He has such a unique voice; it’s really hard to miss him in productions.

Can’t wait to hear more from him in the future!

    ~ Kalyn

  6. Stephenie Singleton says:

Oh wow! I was surprised to see Mr. Scott Menville on the podcast! This is actually the first Podcast that I have listened to, Mr. Freeman. I’ve been a fan of yours specifically for -yeeeeears- now and I never got around to listening to the podcast, and now I’m hooked. Keep up the great work! 😀
